There are many accessories available that will help individuals (with or without hearing aids) to access the essential auditory information with which they struggle from day to day. These tools could be used to enhance communication, to amplify the auditory signal from various sources (TV, phone, etc.), or to augment safety signals or indicators in the home. Most commonly used ALDs include:
- Amplified telephones
- Captioned telephones
- Personal amplifiers (pocket-talkers)
- TV amplifiers
- Amplified neckloops for t-coils
- Amplified baby monitors, alarm clocks, door bells, etc.
Family Audiology has access to a variety of Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) and we are happy to assist you in purchasing and learning to use these devices. Give our office a call if you would like to schedule an appointment to review your options.
